Prince George, BC – The body of Former South African President Nelson Mandela continues to lie in State in Pretoria.   His casket will be taken to his  home village of Qunu on Saturday.  He will be buried on Sunday.

Here at home, the YMCA is offering an opportunity for Prince George  and area residents to sign a book of condolences.

From  now through to the  18th  of December,  you are  welcome to   visit the YMCA in Prince George (at 2020 Massey Drive) and sign a memorial book in Nelson Mandela's honour. The book will be forwarded to YMCA Canada who will present them to the Mandela family through the Canadian Friends of Nelson Mandela.

The YMCA's relationship with Nelson Mandela began when, as a young boxer, he worked out regularly at the Soweto YMCA.
