Fraser Lake, B.C. – One person  died in the crash which  closed Highway 16  West of Fraser Lake early yesterday. ( see previous story)

RCMP  say an east bound  vehicle  collided with a moose, about  34 kms west of Fraser Lake around 1:30 in the morning.   The  43 year old female passenger in the  small vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene,  the femal driver  was transported to Vancouver General  Hospital where she is in critical condition.

Both women were from Burns Lake.

Fraser Lake RCMP and North District Traffic Services continue to investigate and a preliminary survey of the scene indicates the moose suddenly appeared from the ditch and jumped in front of the oncoming vehicle.
