Prince George, B.C. – It’s a girl!
The first baby born at the University Hospital of Northern B.C. in Prince George is a little girl, who came into the world at 5:03 this morning.
Catherine Clair Elliott-Coffey is the first child for Mom, Sarah Coffey and Dad, Joe Elliott of Prince George, British Columbia weighing in at 8 pounds, 6 ounces.
The first baby of 2014 for BC is a boy. He was born at Victoria General Hospital at 12:01 this morning

âThe kids today arenât getting the attention that I gave my kids or the attention my parents gave me,â says the 54-year-old Carroll.
âTheir parents are completely wound up in their mobile devices and social networks.
“They have no attention span.
“Those first two or three years are formative, so somehow what they learn during that time is going to help shape their view of the world.
Futurist Jim “Carroll admits heâs only guessing, but says the child who is raised thinking, âMom, dad, get off that device and talk to me,â could conceivably grow up rejecting personally intrusive types of technology â despite the absolute certainty theyâll grow up in a world with more technology than their parents and grandparents living today can only dream of.”
I agree with his observation of the current parent generation as well as the likelihood that many will do as the younger generation has done for many generations, reject many of the attitudes and habits of their parents.
Back to the era of the hippies ….. ;-)
