Fort St. John, B.C.- The first baby of 2014 to be born in Fort St. John is a boy.

Tucker Wyatt Wilson (in photo at right) was born at the Fort St. John Hospital and Peace Villa this morning at 8:33 local time to mom Ashley Bigelow and dad Sean Wilson of Fort St. John.  Tucker tipped the scale at 9 pounds, 3 ounces.  Tucker was also welcomed by siblings Aiden and Jaxon.

On the coast at Prince Rupert, the first baby  of 2014 at the Prince Rupert Regional Hospital  was a girl.

Samantha Paula Sally Juliet Garvie  ( in photo at left) was born at Prince Rupert Regional Hospital on New Year’s day, at 1:55 p.m. local time to mom Grace Drager and dad Robert Garvie from Haida Gwaii .  Samantha  weighed 7 pounds, 12 ounces and is the second child for Grace and Robert.

The first baby  of 2014 in Smithers is a girl as well.

Rowan Ewald was born at Bulkley Valley and District Hospital on January 1 at 5:49 p.m. local time to mom Keri Ewald and dad Ryan Ewald of Houston weighing in at 5 pounds, 12 ounces.

The baby is the second for Keri and Ryan.

And the first baby born in Quesnel in 2014   is also a girl.  She  has  yet to be  named, but  made her debut at GR Baker Hospital on January 1 at 11:02 p.m. local time to mom Aurore Baines and dad Matt Baines of Quesnel weighing in at 8 pounds, 9 ounces.

The baby is the second for Aurore and Matt.

The first baby of 2014  in the Northern Health region was born in Prince George at 5:03 a.m. on January 1st. The baby girl   ( Catherine Clair Elliott-Coffey)  is the first child for Mom, Sarah Coffey and Dad, Joe Elliott of Prince George. ( see previous story)
