16 Crash was Double Fatal
Prince George, B.C.- RCMP have now confirmed the crash on Highway 16 west yesterday, claimed two lives.
The crash ocurred around 3:00 pm on Highway 16 west, 1 km East of Hillcrest Way Road and involved an empty logging truck and a pickup truck.
According to witnesses, an east-bound Ford Ranger truck crossed the center line and collided head on with the west bound logging truck. Witnesses stated the pick up truck appeared to have been stuck in a deep rut on the south side of the Highway. When the truck broke free of the rut it entered into the oncoming lane.
Both occupants of the pick up truck, a 56 year old male and 79 year old woman, both from Vanderhoof , died at the scene. The driver of the logging truck sustained minor injuries.
Names have not been released.
