City Receives Crime Prevention Award

Prince George, B.C. – The Attorney General, Minister of Justice, Suzanne Anton, has presented Prince George with a Community Safety and Crime Prevention Award.
Although the award was officially announced in November of last year, and the 21 other recipients from across BC received their award at that time, the Minister made the presentation today to Mayor Green at the Blue Ribbon Roundtable on Crime Reduction.
The City of Prince George was recognized for its approach to crime prevention and community safety which involves School District 57, the RCMP, the Ministry of Children and Family Development, and other community agencies in collaborating to create an environment where all citizens feel safe.

everyone else got their awards in Novemeber, and thisone two months later… I guess that tells us how high up the scale this one rated in the eyes of our lovely Liberal Governmnet.. it made the “WE WILL GET TO IT EVENTUALLY LIST”
How much crime has gone on since November?
Everyone gets a ribbon for participating
This is like a car dealership getting an award for keeping it’s parking lot clean ! Has nothing to do with selling cars ! ” Recognized for it’s approach to crime prevention……”. Somebody missed out on the hug 2 months ago and it was just realized now !
klnd of reminds me of a teacher giving a struggling student a “Personal Achievement Award”.
How many taxpayer dollars are wasted on this nonsense?
This is just like Gordon Scambell receiving the Order of BC award… completely meaningless!!!
This is recognition for the work the city has been doing in building partnerships in the community to reduce crime. Those efforts have been going on for years and they have been led by Chris Bone.
Unfortunately our mayor decided Ms. Bone was expendable and brought the axe down on her months ago.
As for making the re-announcement this week after announcing the same thing in November, you have to remember it is an election year and any positive press is helpful for a politician.
It is amazing how spoon fed most of the media are. The government just spews out a release and they cut and paste. Tells you a lot about some of the so-called journalists in this town.
“Those efforts have been going on for years and they have been led by Chris Bone.”
Would that be the years when the City was leading the nation at being the highest or among the highest crime rate cities?
The real indicator is the lagging indicator of the actual rates rather than the leading indicators which point to actual crime records that might be.
“building partnerships” I could swear that has been going on for many decades if not generations.
Why are we just recognizing that now?
What and how many crimes were prevented? Be specific.
Hah what a joke, and if you crack it open there’s a toy inside…lol
