Offstreet Parking Rates to Slip for Most
Prince George, B.C. – There is relief on the way for nearly all who rent parking stalls from the City of Prince George.
Only one lot will see rates that are actually higher than what was introduced in January 1 of 2014. The Vancouver Street Lot is going to cost stall renters about $5 dollars more than the boost that took effect Jan. 1.
Council has instructed staff to come back with a new bylaw that will have the rental rates revised. Specifically, the rates as of April 1st, will reflect a 25% increase over the 2013 rate.
Then, there will be a further 15% increase at the start of 2015, and again at the start of 2016.
With that in mind, we have produced the following chart to show what the April 1st rates will likely look like ( if rounded off to the nearest nickel).

6th Avenue lot … that is the one that was supposed to have UNBC residences on it.
Will be interesting to see what will go in there.
Wonder how Commonwealth is doing these days.
“rounded off to the nearest nickel”….huh?
They do realize that only works if your paying cash, right?
Anyway, good to see the price start with a 6 for 2nd avenue rather than a 9……I like it.
Good point, mwk. It seems that many businesses have conveniently forgotten about that.
At the end of the day, it is still yet another hike in user fees and everyone knows user fees are just another form of taxation.
Our queen of the user fee may not see it that way but the reality she has engineered the largest hike in user fees in the history of Prince George.
The sad irony is that this comes from someone who promised to cut 10% in every department. What a joke. Give me Rob Ford any day, at least he doesn’t say one thing and then do another. Ah wait, never mind.
Pretty cheap rates for those that have plugins over those that don’t. 2nd ave rooftop from April 1st to Jan 1st, a $1.35 difference? Can I run a cord down there to plug in my truck? Where is the city getting this cheap electicity from that they can sell it for $1.35 a month?
Apparently the undercover with a plug electricity is more expensive than on the roof.
What a GONG SHOW!!!!!
FLIP FLOP FLIP FLOP LYNN HALL LYNN HALL FLIP FLOP FLIP FLOP!
Where are the rates for 2015 and 2016
