Prince George, BC – One person was killed in an avalanche near Revelstoke this afternoon on a mountain, RCMP say, was extremely busy with numerous snowmobilers.

Revelstoke RCMP and Search and Rescue received the call of an avalanche on Boulder Mountain at approximately 3:30pm this afternoon.  North District Media Relations Officer, Constable Lesley Smith, says the victim had been snowmobiling with two others near a cabin on the mountain when the avalanche was triggered.

Constable Smith says the man was unconscious when located by SAR personnel and later succumbed to his injuries.  She says the BC Coroners Service was called to the scene and has taken jurisdiction of the incident.
