And The Winner Is…

Prince George, BC – The search is on for the winning design for the medals to be presented at the 2015 Canada Winter Games…

Canada Games Council Chair, Tom Quinn, says, "The medal design competition is always a great way for the public to get involved a create a lasting legacy that Canada Games medalists will treasure for a lifetime."

Submissions are being sought from the country from now until August 8th, 2013.

Quinn says, "Seeing the creativity and all the effort that is put into the conception of the medal design continues to be a fun and rewarding process for the Council, the Host Society, and the individuals who take part in the competition."

The Manager of Ceremonies & Culture for the 2015 Canada Winter Games, Karen Jeffery, says, "With over 1,000 medals to be presented to successful athletes during the 2015 Games, designing the medal will bring national exposure to the artist and their winning design."

The Medal Design Competition is open to Canadian residents ages 13 and older, novice to seasoned artists.  The chosen design will receive an honorarium and a commemorative set of the Canada Games medals: gold, silver and bronze.  Full details are available at www.canadagames2015.ca/medaldesign
