CELEBRATE!!!
Tuesday, July 1, 2014 @ 4:00 AM
It is time to celebrate, as our nation is officially 147 years old today.
There is no shortage of action at Fort George Park today, with festivities getting underway at 11:00 this morning, but the official opening ceremony is set for noon.
With multi cultural festivities and food, the day will wrap up with a Canfor sponsored fireworks display at 11 p.m from Connaught Hill Park. The fireworks display is the reason why Connaught Hill park will be off limits to visitors today.
So, we would like to know what Canada Day means to you. How do you plan to celebrate? What do you think of on this day?

Happy Canada Day everyone!
What does Canada Day mean to me? I think it means recognizing and celebrating the fact that we have a huge country made up of many different people with different outlooks, beliefs, traditions and cultures.
As a country, we are not about one Province, one region or one city. Our strength is in our diversity and our ability to work together to build a country that works for everyone that is here and for those who will join un in the future.
I think we need to do more to learn about our country, the people that live here and the things that every region brings us. Let’s study ourselves, let’s study our country and let’s figure out a way to move forward together. We have incredible potential. Let’s be more focused in working together to realize it.
multiculturism does not work
It makes me feel proud! We live in such a wonderful country, so many opportunities, so many different cultures, so much flavour!
Happy Birthday Canada, 147 is so very young for a nation, but look how much we’ve grown!
Nice contribution to NMG’s post, ice. Give your keyboard a rest.
Happy Canada Day everyone (except ice)!
Such a great country to live in! I love traveling to other parts of the world, but there’s nothing better than touching down at YVR and going through Customs.
Not only do we live in a great country, we live in a spectacular province that has something for everyone.
Great day at the park except for the nice couple that decided to fire up a joint sitting in a crowd that was mostly kids and young families
Can’t drink in public, shouldn’t light a dobie.
