Air Quality Advisory Hits Quesnel and Williams Lake

Prince George, B.C. – While the air in Prince George is much clearer today than yesterday, the wildfire smoke advisory remains in effect until at least this afternoon.
Smoke advisories have been issued for Quesnel and Williams Lake, where levels of PM2.5 continue to rise. In Quesnel the 24 hour rolling average for PM2.5 was 76 µg/m3 when the provincial target is just 25 µg/m3. The last hourly measurement showed PM2.5 readings of 143µg/m3 in Quesnel.
In Williams Lake, the 24 hour rolling average was 69 µg/m3 while the hourly rate, at 10 this morning was sitting at 97 µg/m3.
An update on the wildfire smoke advisories is expected later this afternoon.
