Air Quality Advisory Continues
Wednesday, July 16, 2014 @ 4:58 PM
Prince George, B.C.- The Air Quality Advisory continues in Prince George.
Ralph Adams of the Ministry of the Environment says the PM2.5 levels in Prince George peaked last night at 168 micrograms per cubic meter. Levels started dropping this morning, and air quality is now in the normal range with an hourly PM2.5 concentration of 3 micrograms per cubic metre.
Despite the low readings, the advisory will remain in effect as smoke dispersion models suggest there may be periods of smoke overnight or tomorrow.
This advisory will be updated tomorrow morning.

Wow, from 168 micrograms per cubic meter last night to 3 micrograms per cubic meter this morning!
We had both the air conditioner and Hepa air filter going yesterday and last night. I feel sorry for the people who had neither, it must have been nearly suffocating.
Unfortunately this is nothing compared to what is in store for us in a few years as the full affects of global warming come into play. This just a short heat wave, with minor forest fire poor air quality. I guarantee it will get much worse, because science says it will.
Time to vote in a government that will steer us towards clean green energy, and not towards a dead-end future in global warming causing fossil fuels!!!
Vote ABC people ABC – “Anything But Conservative”
Called smoke and ash from a fire, then the wind came and pushed it away. Gets warm and cold every year here at different times, our record heat for yesterday was set in 1947. NDP will steer us towards unions and higher wages and more unemployment, not sure how that gets us closer to green energy. The libs will give us a country of pot smokers, more gardners but probably no more green energy.
The liberals in BC have introduced more green than any party in the past, Brit Carbon tax to IPPs
Considering the Chinese increased their emissions by about 10 Canada’s in the last decade anything we do as a country is moot to the whole equation. Sending them natural gas over coal will help them get greener.

Evenin’ Peeps!
It’s not like I look for the opportunity to point out your never ending hypocrisy, but being that you are someone who goes on and on and on and on about Global Warming, I’m wondering why, in addition to the numerous energy consuming computers that you have, you would also have an energy guzzling air conditioner and an energy consuming Hepa filter??
Perhaps if you weren’t so full of hot air, you would find that opening some windows in the evening might be enough to cool your house down! That’s what most of us do!
Perhaps on this point, we are “greener” than you are? ;-)
Slinky; you forget that the Federal Liberals had a leader so committed to addressing climate change that he called his dog Kyoto. The Liberal Party of Canada is much more committed to keeping our internationally agreed on carbon reduction commitments than the Conservatives. The Liberals are better for our environment and climate.
You overlooked the fact that the Northern Gateway Pipeline would deliver more than 580,000 barrels of tar sands oil to the Chinese market, if it is allowed to be built. Not only would the consumption of more of this carbon emitting oil by China speed up global warming, the new half a million barrels of oil per day would help expand Alberta Tar Sands operations, which is already among the top 5 largest carbon producing projects in the world! Voting for the NDP would stop this pipeline and the Kinder Morgan pipeline expansion, this would keep the Tar Sands operations the same size, not increasing its production and carbon emissions by up to 30%.
Voting for the Green Party is of course an automatic vote for clean green energy, however I would vote for any candidate of any political party, other than the Conservative Party of Canada, who has the best chance of winning their riding. This is what I mean by ABC (Anything But Conservative).
In closing, I provide you with a quote from a letter a number of Nobel Prize winning Laureates sent to President Barrack Obama; The letter also called attention to tar sands oil as one of the dirtiest energy sources on Earth. If fully developed, the Alberta tar sands would be the second largest source of global warming gases in the world, which the Laureates said will not only hurt people in the USbut will also endanger the entire planet.

Vote for a party that will reduce our global warming gases, not increase them!
You overlook the fact that Although signing Kyoto nothing was done other than ink on a page. You overlook even if Northern Gateway isn’t built there are hundreds of other sources for oil and they will get their fill. Voting Green Party is a joke nationally, voting green or NDP provincially will kill the province economy wise and luckily people remembered history repeats.
I keep my windows closed and we sleep in the basement bedrooms in this weather. Perhaps my vote is greener than yours.
