Prince George, B.C. – Early estimates suggest this year's British Columbia Northern Exhibition drew more visitors than last year.
General Manager Heather Webster says though the exact numbers have not been tallied yet she guesses this year's fair attracted 45,000 to 50,000 visitors, an improvement from last year when approximately 42,000 guests walked through the gates.
"I think it's because we brought in a few new exhibits like the Northern Taste Market and the Master Chef Competition was a huge draw. In addition new events like the motocross helped and 4-H celebrated it's 100th year which brought in quite a few people."
Webster also says having Kin 1 open was a bonus and says mother nature provided a nice boost as well.
"The weather could not have been more ideal – it wasn't too hot or cold. It was perfect."

I can tell by the amount of garbage left behind by the attendees! Parking lot, along Ospika and 22nd ave are disgusting.
Great job PG!
did they make money????
Lower the Adult admission price from $15 to $10 and see what happens. I’m sure it’s a great fair, and kudos to all the volunteer’s, but that is the biggest reason we did not attend.
$15 is barely more than the price of a movie at the theatre – for that we had an entire afternoon of entertainment, great bands, heavy horse pull, motocross and access to mini donuts. Pretty cheap entertainment if you ask me.
Not to mention a family pass was 2 adults and 2 kids for $25.
These days, $15 is a reasonable price for the tickets. 12 years ago (when 8 moved back to PG), would of been too expensive since PG was in a deep recesion at the time.
i avoided going this year the rides were the same as last and nothing really new to see i think i will start attending the mayfair again
