Polley Lake Water Tests Expected Later Today
Likely, B.C.- There could be some good news later today on the water in the Likely region.
The Ministry of the Environment is expecting independent sample results from Polley Lake later today. As soon as the results have been reviewed, and if they are in line with the sample results from Imperial Metals’ test results, Interior Health just might consider a partial or full rescinding of the drinking water advisory.
Work continues in the area, as the First Nations Health Authority develops a sampling program to answer questions and address concerns about eating fish. The sampling will focus on salmon in the confluence of the Quesnel and Fraser River.
The debris clean up continues, as Mount Polley Mine staff are helping waterfront property owners clean up their properties.

Is not interior health a branch of our government? Yes it is.. So they saying it’s okay leaves a arsenic/caustic/etc taste in my mouth
So who would you trust?
He trusts nobody, maybe the Quesnel Mayor and Council should be taught how to take a sample to keep everyone happy…but alas they too are government.
People seem to forget they are only testing the water, once they get that over with they can deal with the larger issue of the silt that washed down the creek. Build a road and run all the material back to the tailings pond. Or build a pipe system and dredge it all back in to the pond is probably easier
