Prince George, B.C. – The Tommy Lakes fire, three and a half hours north of Fort St. John and 60 kilometres northeast of Pink Mountain , is growing.
"The lightning-caused wildfire is now estimated at 500 hectares and is displaying aggressive fire behaviour. An evacuation alert is in effect for oil and gas infrastructure that may be impacted by the fire," says fire information officer Jill Kelsh.
She says it's a modified response fire and is not actively being suppressed but notes personnel are "flying in daily and assessing growth."
