Prince George, B.C . – A motorcycle rider has been taken to  University Hospital of Northern B.C.  after crashing on  Highway 97 north of Hixon.

The  motorcycle was the only vehicle involved in the crash,  and the  injuries to the  rider  are not believed to be life threatening.

The  highway is NOT closed.

RCMP  are on scene, and waiting  for the  motorcycle to be  picked up by a tow truck.

The cause  of the crash is under investigation.
