Prince George, B.C. – For the second year running the Thun family has donated $10,000 for the Salvation Army's Back to School program.
Cameron Thun presented the cheque this morning to the Salvation Army's Bill Glasgow at Pine Centre Mall.
Thun says it's all about giving back to the community that's given his family so much over the years.
"Yes, our family has lived here forever and done very well. We love this city and we try to use different vehicles to better the people around us."
He says that's why his family's charitable efforts have included granting bursaries to four local high schools the past seven years.
Business coordinator Glasgow says the Thun's charity is greatly appreciated and will go a long ways to helping local kids.
"It's fantastic. It means of the 200 backpacks we usually give out, each kid will have an additional $50 gift card to help with the rising costs of clothes and shoes."
