Prince George, B.C. – An online vote will determine where torch celebrations will be held in the run-up to next year’s 2015 Canada Winter Games in Prince George.

One community of each region of northern BC has the opportunity to host the festivities as part of the 2015 Games Torch Relay.

The finalists in each region are:

Northwest – Terrace/New Hazelton
Northeast – Fort St John/Chetwynd/Dawson Creek/Pouce Coupe
Central Interior – Williams Lake/Quesnel

Voting is open now at www.canadagames2015.ca and ends September 12, at 11:59 pm PST.

“The quality of submissions we received from communities across the region were remarkable,” says Games CEO Stu Ballantyne. “Now, it’s up to British Columbians to help decide what communities will host 2015 Canada Winter Games Regional Community Torch Celebrations.”

The three winning communities will be announced September 24 at the Union of British Columbia Municipalities Convention.
