Teachers Strike Causing Headaches for International School

Saturday, September 13, 2014 @ 4:50 PM

Prince George, B.C. – The ongoing teachers dispute is causing headaches for a local international school.

General Manager Dawn Marquardt with Shecana International Schools in Prince George, says their 48 cultural students and 18 international students are running out of things to do.

“We thought we could play games just to get to know eachother but that lasted really well for about two days and the students are no longer buying into that.” 20140913_094915

She says what’s even more concerning is that more students may decide to go home.

“We had a couple of our international students (from China & Korea) cancel already and I guess some parents in Europe may have enough and bring their kids home too.”

Marquardt says they’ve already run out of things they can do for free and are now looking into activities the students will have to pay for.

“We’re now looking into swimming, the YMCA, kayaking, movie nights, a Cougars game but as far as daytime activities go we’re a little scarce in PG.”

Moving forward she says she’s looking for a little help from above.

“It’s mostly a wait and see situation and we’re doing a lot of praying that they’ll get back to school sooner rather than later.”

This also means your customers are asking for refunds.

Maybe China will be able to sue us for this as well..

Thats right, our govt made agreements with them to allow them to do just that didn’t they.

No refunds. The program has already begun for the year, whether school started or not.

Refund Policy

Just as well.
These foreign students just want to come back in the future and take our kids jobs.
