Prince George, B.C – The Salvation Army warehouse on 18th Avenue was a beehive of activity this afternoon as organizers of the BC Thanksgiving Food Drive dropped off crate after crate of non-perishable food items.
The goal of the fourth annual multi-faith event is to bring in 15,000 pounds of food which Captain Neil Wilkinson with the Salvation Army says will fill a huge need in the community.
“Right now we are serving 1,200 families each and every month through the food bank. That translates to about 3,500 people that are being fed on a month to month basis so the 15,000 pounds of food coming in is going to go a long way to helping feed hungry stomachs.”
