McConnachie Seeks Council Seat

Tuesday, September 16, 2014 @ 4:35 PM

Prince George, B.C.- Another person has come forward announcing they are entering the  municipal election race. McConnachie.Terri

Long-time resident of Prince George, Terri McConnachie, will make it official tomorrow, but she   will be in the running for a Council position.

Terri is best known for her years at the helm of the Prince George Exhibiton including leading it through its centennial celebration.

“Following a life time invested in the non-profit sector and active volunteerism I am ready to step it up to the ultimate in public service, by announcing my intention, to earn citizens’ support and vote, in the upcoming civic elections for City Council” shares McConnachie “my reasons are not entirely altruistic, I have a lot invested in this community”.

McConnachie advocates  a ‘back to basics’ approach which includes a continued emphasis and investment into repairing, replacing and updating ageing infrastructure coupled with a regular maintenance regime, the importance of city beautification, and the need for accountability at City Hall in addition to the concept of teamwork and communication at the Council table.

McConnachie is the present Executive Officer for the Canadian Home Builders’ Association of Northern BC and is an invested member of the Nechako Rotary and an active member of the City of Prince George Heritage Commission.

A very impressive resume. This is a person I will vote for. And not just because she’s pretty!

Hasn’t the PGX been running in the red for a while? Consistently spending more than you got or take in doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong, but if memory serves, the province and others? had to come through with donations to make the centennial happen because of money trouble?

Sine Nomine. The PGX was running in the red for the same reasons, that the Cougars were, PG Golf and Curling club, and service clubs like the Elks, Legion, Moose, etc; etc;

A complete lack of support by the citizens of Prince George.

Pal, just gonna be devils advocate here, doesn’t that mean she was spending money she didn’t have on a project the majority didn’t want? I have to agree with Sine, not all that inspiring.

Lets see, killed the air show, pretty much doomed the home show by filling it with infomercial type displays, and made the pgx a place that isn’t very fun or entertaining anymore, yep, just what we need running for office. Can we please have someone run who hasn’t spent a lifetime sucking off the public teet.

@Huh……enlighten me. What does Terri McConnachie have to do with the home show or the air show ? Sucking off the public teet ? Please tell me how this is all evil and intertwined ?

The PGX is under new management aren’t they? For the last 2 years if I’m correct. Blaming the citizens problems on one woman is hardly fair. Don’t know about whatever airshow ‘huh’ suggests, but the homeshow was great this year from what I heard and experienced. There’s always room in associations member roster and committees if you are so concerned with how things are run. Perhaps even city council? You’ve got my vote Terri, I can’t wait to see what good you do in this crazy place.

“huh” go wallow in some cow dong at least than the odor of you will match your negative personality. You have my vote Terri!

people have short memories apparently, or all of you are new to pg if you don’t remember the short air show we used to have.

Your point “Huh” ?

Beautification…an ongoing project for downtown.
