Curtain Falls on Evening of Pink
Prince George, B.C. – It is the end of an era.
Last weekend’s “Evening of Pink” was the last.
After ten years, and raising more than $180 thousand dollars, the creator and organizer of the Evening of Pink fundraising event, has decided to end the annual event. “All things have their time” says Monica Peacock, “ I feel that the community has supported this event to the fullest, it’s time to step aside.”
Last weekend’s event raised about $25 thousand dollars, money which will towards purchasing equipment that will aid in the detection, prevention and treatment of breast cancer.
Funds raised by this event in the past have gone towards such equipment as the Sentinel Probe, Faxitron Specimen X-Ray Unit, equipment for New Cancer Clinic, the Endoscopic Ultrasound and last year the Aplio High End Ultrasound Unit.
“We applaud Monica and her team’s dedication to this event,” said Judy Neiser, CEO for Spirit of the North. “It truly is a labour of love for her and her many young volunteers, dedicated sponsors, and supporters. The funds received through this event really have made a difference in bringing the best of care closer to home in the North. We will miss it for sure.”

Smart decision Ms. Peacock and thank you for organizing such a great event and fundraiser for so many years. Hopefully someone else will step up and create another event to replace this one.
