MacDonald Seeks Seat as Trustee
Prince George, B.C.- She has spent plenty of time in the School District 57 Board room over the past few years, and wasn’t an employee or trustee but now she’s trying to change that.
Denise MacDonaldhas entered the race to become a Trustee for the Board of Education for School District 57.
It was Macdonald who brought the concerns of rural education to the table when the Giscome School was condemned and through that she says she has developed a passion for public education “I think I have a lot of experience in the boardroom, I think I have a lot of understanding of the processes in dealing with the Ministry of Education and Administration.”
She worked very closely with the SD57 and the Regional District over 5 and a half years to create the new Giscome School and Eastline Activity Centre. The alternative would have been hours and hours on a bus for small children so they could attend classes in Prince George. While she has a special knowledge of the education challenges facing rural communities, she says there are other issues including facility upgrades and funding issues that need to be addressed throughout the district.

Looking forward to learning some more about Ms. MacDonald.
Yes….every home in Canada, no matter how remote, even on an island with 5 people, should have a school next door to it. And an Escalade with spinners for community use.
LOL, Digitus. No kidding…
