Terrace, B.C.- The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) in B.C. has taken over the probe of an incident that happened in Terrace last May.

On Wednesday of this week, the IIO was contacted by Terrace RCMP about an incident that had happened in May . According to the RCMP, they had received a video on October 8^th which is alleged to relate to an incident in which a young male was injured while being taken into custody.

After reviewing the video, the Terrace detachment of the RCMP is said to have immediately reported the incident to the IIO.

The IIO has asserted jurisdiction over the incident and will conduct an investigation. The RCMP maintains jurisdiction over any concurrent investigation related to the affected person.

The IIO is now asking that anyone who may have witnessed this incident ( which took place on May 28^th) to contact their toll free witness line at   1-855-446-8477 (TIPS).
