Williams Lake, B.C. – There’s been a deadly start to the Thanksgiving long weekend.

This as police confirm three people are dead following two separate motor vehicle incidents in and around Williams Lake.

The first tragedy occurred when a vehicle left Horsefly Road (approximately 20 kms north of 150 Mile House) and landed in a ditch at around 7:30 last night.

Police says the lone occupant, a 58 year old male, was found dead at the scene.

The other incident occurred on South Lakeside Drive in Williams Lake at around 1:00 this morning when a car left the roadway, entered a ditch and rolled down an embankment onto rail tracks.

Two males in the vehicle were found dead at the scene while a third, a female, was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Police say investigations into both accidents are underway but aren’t releasing any names.

This is not how we are meant to enjoy Thanks Giving, my thoughts to the families concerned. Please lets all drive safe this weekend.

Bc famous ditches and embankments.

X-it, ditches and embankments do little more than lay there, just like the roads do.

Very sad for the families that have lost loved ones, hope that others may learn from this tragedy and will drive safely this and every other weekend!
