Mayoral Race A Close One

Friday, October 24, 2014 @ 7:41 AM

Prince George, B.C. – The race to become the next mayor  of the City of Prince George is  a close one.

In an unscientific poll conducted by 250News,   we asked  the simple question “Who would you choose for Mayor of Prince George?”

1,921 votes were cast in less than 24 hours and  it is clear  there is no runaway  winner.

Don Zurowski is leading  with 48% of the decided vote with 925,  while Lyn Hall is close with  741 votes, or 39%.

The greater challenge for the candidates  may be to  convince those voters  who  don’t  like either candidate,  or  who have not yet decided.

There  are  258 votes, or  13%  of the  ballots cast,  that  could  push Hall   into top spot,  or widen the gap for Zurowski.

8%  ( 147 votes) said they would choose neither  candidate,  and another 5% (111  votes)  that say they are undecided.

Too bad it can’t be confirmed how many of the 1921 votes live in PG.

Lol, could be anywhere in the world

Looking at the Free Press, the number one issue according to a survey of PG voters by far was, “I don’t know”. Pretty sad.

My gut feeling just tells me that Zurowski was too close to Green and Hall was more interested in listening and acting on constituents concerns.

I don’t think these type of poles should be used in this manner. They mean nothing. Yet both this site and the citizen use them. There is nothing to stop a person from having multiple accts on either site with the potential to actually sway voters. It’s poor reporting using these poles as actual fact to how the voters feel.

You should not be surprised to learn that you can only vote once in fact your IP address only allows you one vote per household.

Val, you are quite correct. I voted at least 10 times. I only quit because I got bored. These polls are bs, but then again so are most if not all polls, except for the one on voting day.

Yup…..just another unknown phone call that I didn’t answer….

Choice for mayor is between a career bureaucrat and a self made business success, I’d go for the businessman. At any rate, I think Mr. Zuroski was more active and put forth more ideas in his time on council than has Mr. Hall.
