Tragedy Near Hudson’s Hope

Tuesday, October 28, 2014 @ 2:33 PM

Hudson’s Hope, B.C. – Two men are dead after a single vehicle collision on Hwy 29 north east of Hudson’s Hope and south west of the Halfway River Bridge.

North District Corporal Dave Tyreman says it happened last night just after 8:30 when a minivan that was travelling toward Fort St.John from the Hudson’s Hope area allegedly failed to negotiate a turn on the roadway causing it to enter a ditch and roll.

He says both men were ejected from the vehicle at the time of the crash and died at the scene.

Names are not being released pending notification of next of kin though Tyreman says the victims were 27 and 47 years old.

He says the cause of the accident is under investigation and notes police are not ruling out that alcohol may have been a contributing factor.

Comments

Very tragic, especially when you read that they were both ejected from the vehicle. In most cases that’s because they chose not to wear their seatbelts; without the ejection they’d have had a vastly better chance.
