Building Permit Values Up
Prince George, B.C.- Encouraging news on building permits for September in Prince George.
The monthly figures show 55 permits valued at $8.67 million were issued in September. That’s an increase in value over the same month in 2013, when there were 60 permits valued at $5.02 million issued.
The year to date figures ( as of the end of September) show 385 permits valued at $105 million have been issued,
That compares to 394 permits valued at $96 million issued in the same nine months of 2013.
Director of Planning, Ian Wells says there is a backlog of construction applications in the department now as applicants try to get foundations poured before the frosts sets in.
Highlights of the September permits include:
- 1140 Pacific Street, Tenant improvements for CAT Rental Store, $450,000.00
- 3040 Recplace Drive, River Point Landing Phase 1B, $1,268,000.00
- 2333 Nicholson Street, Tenant improvements for Houle Electric, $500,000.00
- 850 River Road, Pole Structure for Railway Museum, $400,000.00
Downtown Development Permit
- DP100476 – Prince George Native Friendship Centre Society. 1320 2nd Avenue for the construction of a new 2-storey shelter services building.
- DP100487 – O’Brien Training Ltd. 140 Quebec Street for façade improvements.
Commercial Development Permit
- DP100456 – 0948523 BC Ltd. 3030 Recplace for the new construction of a 4,406 m2 and a 1,178 m2 commercial building.
