Happy Post Civic Election, Friday. …
ohhh mannnn is it over????
The local uproar concerning Shari Greens machinations to become the Conservative candidate is just the latest indication that the rot emanating from Stephen Harpers leadership has spread to the grassroots. From bribes to crooked Senators that he has appointed, to overseeing a corrupt election machine that has sent one of his operatives to jail and another to hiding in Kuwait, and seeing some of his right hand men resign and others in prison, Harpers regime is coming to an end. It is amazing though how many Conservatives are willing to ignore the stench and plan to keep on voting Tory.
Getting out of Canada here for a bit, Just wondering what will happen to the verdict in Missouri, with the white cop killing the black child, Another civil war…(just saying)… Another go getter is O bahama (lol) wanting to keep all the illegals in the country to be granted citizenship, so they can pay taxes…without checking out that most of these ppl are into the most illegal crimes that America can handle. Hope this makes the dollar drop again.
Good morning everyone. I just hope the roads aren’t too slippery today and that everyone drives safely. I wonder who’s going to be first to hit the rhubarb?
It was sure slippery up Terrace way the other day. I guess we’ve had a pretty easy fall all round. Stay safe.
Any word about the pedestrian hit in Fort Fraser last night? Pretty hard to see out there in the dark with all the mud that builds up on the headlights. More reason for the province to have more highway lighting in places where pedestrians may be walking… being that street lighting doesn’t get covered over with road grime and significantly increases road visibility… in times like this headlights have their limits.
So now that the Canada Games is coming and the new council will be trying to sell PG to the world… what are the plans?
Will we have a rush job to get a sight line policy in place to ensure we have good clear sight lines that show PG at its best?
Will we have enough places for people to stay?
What is going to happen with the construction of the Delta hotel? And how do those guys afford to have all that heavy equipment sit down there at the site idle for a year now?
What about pre games… are we going to see any PG style mardi gras type of event that is typical of this time of year to prime people up? What does the games schedule look like at this point?
What about showing the city to potential developers during the games with tickets and what not… maybe future hotel, shopping, residential and commercial developers getting a chance to see PG at its finest while they try gauge investment opportunities?
And what about strangers… the whole town will be full of them so how do we spot a stranger from a local (and get the strangers to spend)… color coded toques for the days of the week maybe… ‘eh’? We could probably sell a lot of toques that way. Keep them guessing and playing catch up to conform and blend in… lol.
I’m just wondering how they plan to show PG as PG, and not as IPG or some other manufactured entity. What is the image people are going to walk away from this with, and what kind of legacy can we build on from the whole experience as a city going forward? Is it getting to late in the process to ask these questions?
As far as the winter games go – We will be paying for this for the next 25 years. There is a winter games surcharge on our utility bills.WTF ?
I for one don’t want any part of it. Not when I an pouring thousands into my vehicle for repairs from these atrocity’s roads.
The tax payer has poured over a million dollars into Otway ski club. A private membership organization.
“What is going to happen with the construction of the Delta hotel?”
—–
They’ve shuffled some stuff around and will be providing a parking area for the games.
“Will we have enough places for people to stay? ”
If people open their homes to the athletes they will. My parents have done this already.
In retrospect to last Saturday’s civic election. I would say Garth Frizzell was pretty slick in his open letter to the Mayor candidates regarding leadership styles. In doing so he placed a label on each candidate and of coarse people love labels. From those labels very often you get a misjudge of the candidate and manipulate the results. He was very stealth like, not even much of the media picked this up, even tho Colin Kinsley alluded to this, ever so slightly on election night. I think Garth is eyeing down that Mayor’s seat in the future. Just saying.
Did I notice city crews out removing election signs yesterday? Shame on all of those who did not get out there and remove their own signs…
Had to get a chuckle from last night’s at issue panel on the CBC Journal. The topic being the by-election last Monday, where Harper kept both seats as Conservative, it really was comical watching the panel members trying to put a spin on it to favour the Liberals. LOL
We need anther election. I’ve gathered enough lumber and plywood for half a shed. :-D
Khoeler’s signs are still on Highway 97 by the bowling alley…
Agree Cheetos, part of the reason for the loss is the misunderstanding/manipulation of the voter. Why did Garth go public with his private letter?
Sorry one more post – can the “NO Fluoridation” guys come pick up the wire frames they left in the lawns at the corner of Ferry and Hwy 16. I saw a kid almost kill himself tripping over one last night after dark
The countdown is on to the Federal election. Should be enough lumber and plywood to finish your shed next fall. ☻
herbster, you did see the results of this weeks Federal byelections, didn’t you??
Isn’t it great that a new mayor and council have been elected. Here we are in the later part of November and no snow, temperatures in the pluses. As far as the rise in temperature it to mind it could be the hot air released from city hall in the form of Green, Stolz, and Wilbur.
Ohhhh.
Now, how many ‘lefties’ have picked up conservative party memberships so that they can elect Shari as the next Conservative Candidate only to look forward to defeating her and the Conservatives in the upcoming Federal Election?
I think she is defeat-able in that election. Nick or Todd could easily coast to a Conservative win.
I’m curious about this issue of whether there is enough accommodation for the Canada Winter Games. The application to host the games must address this issue. What did it say about it?
Resident, I really think you are on track with your Hot Air conclusion!!!!
Ohhhh.
Now, how many ‘lefties’ have picked up conservative party memberships so that they can elect Shari as the next Conservative Candidate…
———-
To hell with personal ethics eh? I’d love nothing better then to see Green humiliated at the convention but since it’s not my riding I’m relegating myself to sitting back and hoping. Let the Conservatives in that riding make their own bed.
Stolz annoys me far more then Green. He really shouldn’t be allowed to be on the executive for the Cariboo after running for the Peace seat. Did he move in the interim?
BillPoser… go here for info.
Winter Games Accommodations
If you wish to open up your home, click HomeStay. I’d offer my home, but the commute from PoMo to PG is a bit of a stretch. :)
I like this line of thinking. If Green wins its stops Doherty from getting his snoot in the big trough, and the general population get a shot at Shari in the federal election.
Nah, don’t chance it folks…. stay safe, vote for Nick.
I was back in the ‘hood two weeks ago for a visit with family. It was nice to see a few of the decrepit buildings demolished. It’s better to have an open space than an eyesore. The wood innovation centre looks impressive from the outside.
I went to the Farmers Market and I’m glad it’s still a bustling place on Saturdays. I attended a Cougars game and thought the vibe in the joint was much improved from years past. I’m a Cougars fan forever. I’d rather chew broken glass than ever watch the Giants.
But some of the road conditions are something to behold. I can’t speak for the whole city but Stuart Drive in Spruceland has more uneven patchwork on it than actual original pavement. I wasn’t sure what was worse, the bumps from the patchwork or the yet unfixed holes.
Hart Guy:
Canada needs citizens who value honesty, rectitude, and a sense of fair play. When rabid partisans such as yourself seem only to celebrate the holding of power at whatever moral cost, our democracy is in rough shape. The stubbornness of Tory voting habits is a sad and dangerous thing, when we need voters to clean house when it is so obviously dirty.
“What is the image people are going to walk away from this with” .. That’s easy, it will be something like this:
“Ewww, what is that stink?”
I see Connaught hill lights is the first big casualty of the winter games legacy. Cancelled to put the resources towards the games. Not that I thought wasting all that power on lighting up Connaught hill was such a good idea, anyways. But they will just replace it with lighting up the Civic Center so you can see it from space.
Give me a break – read today’s comment by the editor in the Citizen – like the city needs a mayor and council roaming the world on our tax dollar!!
Hall went to China with Green – what was the end results? Air miles/ sight seeing etc.
As for Frizzell – have heard more about him in the last week than in the last 3 years.
@herbster: After spewing bile all morning you have the temerity to accuse others of hyper partisan posting? What guile.
Huh wrote: I see Connaught hill lights is the first big casualty of the winter games legacy. Cancelled to put the resources towards the games.
250 news wrote about this on November 3, 2014. According to the article the City was given notice almost a month before this and it is news now?
Shame on Tourism PG and the city! Tourism should be looked after all year around. How many people come to visit PG before, during. and just after the holidays?
I know of a few competitors for the games that will be here during this time. Great way to show community spirit.
“The event, which first lit up Connaught Hill Park in the winter of 2007, has been coordinated by Tourism Prince George and the City helped out by providing in kind support by storing, installing and maintaining the light displays, as well as clearing the snow from the Connaught Hill roadway.
Tourism Prince George has advised the City it will no longer be involved with organizing or operating this event. That notice came less than a month ago, .
The City says with its focus on the Canada Winter Games, there just isn’t enough time or staff availability to take over the event.”
What chaos in Mexico. I hope the people take down that corrupt government and cartels.
“250 news wrote about this on November 3, 2014. According to the article the City was given notice almost a month before this and it is news now?
” .. Missed that 250 story, may have been out of town. I just heard it on the radio this morning.
Keep right except to pass. Turn your lights on. Learn to use your signals. Figure out how to merge. Yield at a yield sign. The speed limit is reduced in school zones and playgrounds. Do not cross a solid white line; there is no right hand turn lane on northbound Ospika when you’re turning on to 15th.
Carry on… :)

Herbsters lot in life seems to be to slag the Harper Government and the Conservatives. He’s not alone in that regard.
Fact of the matter is he is on the losing side when it comes to Federal Politics. If he wants to look at some really bad Government, with bribes, people in jail etc; he need only review the Gomery Report. Hmmm. Seems he has a problem with recall.
The By Elections victories in Alberta, and Ontario went by without much notice from the press. How come??? Could it be that those stalwart entities like the CBC and the Toronto Star, The Tyee, to name a few, only consider it news if it is an anti Harper story.
Suck it up Herbster. Harper will be around for at least the next 5 years, so you might as well get used to the idea.
Good morning everyone. It’s a great day here in Abby 9c but I’ll need to wear my slicker when I go for a walk. I love walking in the rain its so quiet comfy. A busy week last week with Armistice and then the Civic elections.
Great parade here in Abby. They have a special section for us veterans not Like PG where they dump all the club members into the veterans section. Actually Armistice is more important to me then that civic election. I know you guys from PG will not agree after all the cauffel with your election.
We also got a new Mayor here in Abby. Have no idea what the results will be as we don’t have 250 to keep us informed. I guess the next tax notice will tell.
We have a great book store here that sells used books and give me 50% off my books for trade ins. Its not like that pricy job you have on third avenue. Used to meet Gue there he liked to pretend that he was a hippy but one look at his $200.00 shoes told a different story. And heavens then there is Pal his car is older then he is. I know he’s busy with City Hall but couldn’t he put his wife to work to buy him a new car?
Just wanted to get you all on the lighter side of things rather then elections and bad drivers. Hope I haven’t offended anyone but you’ll let me know. You guys have a great day up in George. Sounds like your roads are still a problem this AM.
Cheers
Nice Friday morning ramblings there, Retired 02!
“Sounds like your roads are still a problem this AM.”
Well, one learns to avoid the streets that have been on the fix list for many years but never get done except for patches on top of patches!
Have a great weekend!
Not spewing bile, or slagging Harper. Just reporting on what is happening,- and I am not sorry if that seems disturb you! All Canadians with a conscience should be disturbed. There might be hope for you yet!
Herbster. A large number of Canadians with a conscience voted for Harper, and will again in the next election. Hmmmm. How do you explain that.???
So true Palopu, many will vote for Harper again, Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out. It is important who replaces Dick Harris too. I have been studying the 3 candidates to replace Harris. Shari Green difinitely a NO, Nick/give him another 10 years, maybe but it is not the time for Nick. Todd Doherty by far the only one to replace Dick.
Aw Pal, there you go again.Maybe your good at that civic stuff but I’d stay away from the big Federal guys,
Cheers
“A large number of Canadians with a conscience voted for Harper, and will again in the next election. Hmmmm. How do you explain that.?
They’re “un-conscience”.
BaldEagle, I don’t know where you get your information from but Otway (Caledonia Nordic Ski Club) did NOT get $1 million dollars of taxpayer’s money. The club is funding a lot of the changes and there is a crew of volunteers that have put in an insane amount of hours making sure the venue is ready for the CWG as well as a good place to host other events. I also know that many a local business has contributed to the club.
Could you please explain where you got your figures from?
They tried a carpet bagger last time, and now the half wit son of an even dimmer father is to be foisted upon the hoi polloi. You have to hand it to the patronizing left; they have just about tried everything to appeal to the electorate. But going from the two past leaders, who at least had the credentials and life’s work to declare themselves “…smarter than the rest of us”, to Justin the high school drama teacher?
I mean really: Has anybody ever been caught declaring that Justin is the brightest most intelligent person in the room?
Lots of people (usually found on internet blog sites) are anti-Conservative, or anti-Harper, but usually stop short of saying who people should vote for and support.
Maybe if there was a viable alternative to the Conservatives, people would consider them. How do you think Dick Harris got voted in time and time again over 20 years? It’s not necessarily because Dick Harris was a great MP. It’s because the other parties were too afraid to run a strong candidate against him.
Princegeorge, don’t feed the troll.
I’ve lived all over the province and have many friends and kin in the LM and on the Island who oddly expect me to apologize for living in PG. Apparently, the Chosen Ones will only live below the 50th parallel or perhaps in the Okanagan. Like many, I could move away if I wished, but frankly, I prefer the more genuine attitude of Northerners to the sometimes condescending, self righteous, and self absorbed nature of many who live ‘down there’.
Enjoy the crowds and high cost of living. More room for us.
PrinceGeorge , don’t feed the troll.
Exactly Seamutt and monkeyseemonkey do. Exactly.
Palopu:
just as some people have a cast iron stomach and can eat any kind of crap without getting sick, some people have a cast iron conscience and can ignore just about any kind of misdeed. Thus there are many examples of Mafia hit men who are kind to their family and friends. I put it to you that to be a Conservative supporter these days you need a cast iron conscience.
IMHO, the next election will ultimately come down to whether people who voted NDP last time around, will vote Liberal this time around AND the slate of candidates that the Liberals can assemble. If the Liberals can take votes from the folks that voted NDP in the last election (much like what happened in Quebec), the Cons are done.
Seats that have always gone Conservative are not going to change, as they have their core support and those numbers are pretty firm. Their problem is that they aren’t attracting new voters, in fact, they are losing support in many of their fringe and historic ridings. Thats the lesson of the by-election. If they are losing ground there, what’s happening in the ridings that are closer?
The Liberals have picked up significant steam under Trudeau (being out here you really see that) and many of the previous NDP supporters only voted that way because they didn’t see another credible alternative on the left.
Make no mistake, even though you hate Trudeau, the next election will be a toss up.
Just how impervious Conservative supporters are to scandal from their elected officials? To paraphrase a corrupt U.S. politician,”The only way a Conservative would not get elected in Prince George would be if they were caught in bed with either a dead woman or a live boy”
As Mark Twain once said, in a letter to a newspaper, after reading his obituary.
**Reports of my death are greatly exaggerated**
The same applies to the predictions of the demise of the Harper Government.
The fact that the Liberals are picking up votes is no surprise. They lost so many votes in the last election they have nowhere to go but up.
The NDP basically capitalized on the loss of votes from the Bloc. The Conservative party actually increased their vote in the last election,. Harper actually won a majority Government without any support from Quebec, where he took 5 seats.
So. Where do we stand to-day. I see a dog fight between the Liberals and NDP to try and get the Quebec vote, however they really have nothing to offer. Firstly it is highly unlikely that the NDP would ever form a Federal Government, and the Liberals have a long way to go, just to gain back what they lost.
Harper on the other hand merely needs to hold on to what he has, and perhaps pick up a few more seats in Quebec, and perhaps the East.
The NDP and Liberals are like a young boy whistling while walking past a graveyard, pretending that he is not afraid. They know they are up against a formidable opponent in the next election.
The big fight will be between the NDP and Liberals to try at the very least to become the official opposition.
Harper had almost 6 million votes in the last election. You cannot write off that amount of people as being unconscionable. He had more of the popular vote that any other party.
So Herbster. Keep flogging a dead horse, and railing against the demon Harper, however I doubt if you will make any inroads into the six million that voted for him.
The anti conservative lot sure get vicious. Why are the left so violent?
Saw something never seen before. Fire truck and ambulance doing a huey at intersection bottom of Peden hill around 230 today. They come roaring down the hill then pull a huey at the interesection and go back up the hill. Ambulance behind him did the same.. We didn’t see any accidents coming down the hill just before the emergency vehicles..
Somebody messed up and gave wrong address???
In the 2011 election the Cons had about 40% of the popular vote, compared to 31% for the NDP and 19% for the Liberals. The Bloc and Greens roughly split the rest.
So, we know that the majority of voters in Canada are not right leaning. The numbers bear that out. I’d also suggest that under Harper, they will never exceed 40% support. In fact, I would think that the 2011 election was very likely the pinnacle of what they can achieve under Harper and it was at a time where the Liberals were decimated. Good on the Conservatives for capitalizing, but in the grand scheme of Canadian politics, it was a short-term blip that I don’t see being repeated. I predict that Harper’s level of support is going to drop considerably heading into the next election.
We should also consider new voters. IF there is one party who can bring new voters in the mix, I’d hazard a guess it would Trudeau with the young vote. That demographic is not voting Conservative and it could be a huge factor if the Liberals can tap into it. With the right approach and the right slate of candidates, I think they can.
I predict that we’re going to be seeing a Liberal minority with a Conservative opposition and a much weakened NDP in third. I also wouldn’t be surprised if the Libs and Cons swap places.
Once again Palopu, you use statistics and numbers to make your case without actually doing any research.
In the last federal election the Cons received 39.62% of the popular vote compared to 30.63% for the NDP and 18.91% for the Liberals.
Clearly just over 60% DID NOT vote for Harper and his policies.
In the last election a lot of traditional liberal voters decided to vote NDP based on 1) The the leader of the Liberals, and 2) The charisma of Jack Layton.
I would suggest to you that the Liberals are re-invigorated under Trudeau, and that the NDP will go back to being the party of the bleating lefty wing nuts, leaving the middle ground to Trudeau’s Liberals.
It will only take Quebec going back to their traditional Liberal voting pattern, and turning those swing ridings in Ontario red again for Trudeau to at least win a minority.
If that 6,000,000 base of votes doesn’t improve dramatically for Harper I can see him getting his ass handed to him in 2015
NMG, did you read my mind??
LOL
Nytechickenhawk. Care to post up your ridiculous prediction for the last provincial election? I thought not. How did that work out for the loser left?
Isn’t that quaint, another liberal who pretends Justin has any qualifications other than a familiar last name. What a joke. Next.
I get a kick out of this popular vote stuff when it really does not mean squat. Just more excuses. What was the popular vote when the corrupt liberals where in?
The royal bank building sure looks great. Who owns that building, is it the bank?
Chickenhawk, as a possible liberal voter next election, can you share with all of us some policy initiatives Justin has announced? Can you also detail some of the work experience Justin may have that may make him a good Prime Minister. I eagerly await ANY info.
Considering that there were just under 24 million eligible voters in the last election, 6 million votes for Harper does not sound all that impressive. And could 1/4 of the electorate have low moral standards? Quite easily I would think.
Seamutt – no, the bank is just a tenant there
Jimmy – Justin is going to legalize dope. LOL
Happy Friday
Ford Nation cranked out over 1/3 of the vote in Toronto for Doug Ford!
Hard to believe that fear of a change in government is this strong already, as if the election was just around the corner.
Palopu you do realize Todd was a big part of the airport expansion fiasco you were up in arms against eh? How do you square that hole as a now Todd faithfull?
herb: “Considering that there were just under 24 million eligible voters in the last election, 6 million votes for Harper does not sound all that impressive.”
So the people who didn’t vote must be happy with the way things are.
Jimmy, resorting to name calling and other terms of at least attempting to belittle others is the last vestige of a person without enough intellect to carry on a conversation or take part in any form of debate that requires one to use their brain rather than their smart ass.
Firstly, I never stated I was voting Liberal, in fact I am a card carrying member of the Conservative party.
Secondly I was simply stating FACTS, and making a personal prediction as to what the outcome of the next election might be!
As for the popular vote question, like I said in the previous post all it will take for the Liberals to unseat Harper is for the old traditional Liberal vote to abandon the NDP, and to some extent the Conservatives and they will form government!
Chickenhawk, you are so freaked out you can’t even type a sentence without skipping words or misspelling them. It is a delight to have my intelligence questioned by you. Next.
settle down folks, or I pull the plug on a few
Ben Meisner
Yep…I’m freaked…you can take that one to the bank!
As for the popular vote question, like I said in the previous post all it will take for the Liberals to unseat Harper is for the old traditional Liberal vote to abandon the NDP, and to some extent the Conservatives and they will form government!
————
I thought the increase in the federal NDP numbers was due to the Quebecers abandoning the PQ? Of course, my memory could be wrong.
A school bus pulled out of the Beaverly PetroCan this afternoon, right in front of a loaded chip truck. This driver transports your children!
I hear there is a shortage of rooms in PG for the Winter Games? Just wondering if they are going to put some of the athletes/VIPs up in the old jail? Or are the facilities only good enough to house refugees?
Thanks for deleting my comments again just as I was about to hit the post comment button. You should really fix that glitch in your system!
I’m still trying to figure out why police cruiser #1110 that I was following today out west thought driving through the middle of the left turn lanes at the Blackwater Rd turn off and then again at the Jutland Rd turn off at full hwy speed was for some emergency response reason or maybe the driver was texting. He then disappeared over the horizon only to be seen again at the bottom of the Mud River hill doing a u turn with out the use of his emergency lights or signals of any kind. If anyone else was observed driving like that they would have been relieved of some cash I’m sure.
NyteHawwk….Don’t feed the troll!
NyteHawk. Anyone can play with numbers.
Heres one. In the last election the Conservatives received 39.62% of the popular vote. The NDP received 30.63%. So we can say with some certainty that 70.25% of people who voted DID NOT vote for the Liberals.
OR/ We could say that the Cons received 39.62% and the Liberals received 18.91%. So 58.53% DID NOT vote for the NDP.
So much for playing with numbers. The only number that counts is that Harper got 166 seats and formed a majority Government.
Why are people like this allowed to walk free among us?
canadian-press/?loc=1&id=30804244
Heard a rumour that the owner of the business “Maple Leaf Loading” that went into receivership is going to restart a new trucking company to replace it. I guess that means he will be paying all former employees the multiple thousands of dollars in unpaid wages the company kept for the three weeks of work they did?
Eagleone. You of all people should know that Todd Doherty was not a major player in the establishment of the Runway Expansion at PG Airport.
The Major players were:
Stieg Hoeg Airport General Manager
Mark Miller Director Operations.
Dianne Bertram Dir Finance & Administration, and
Bill Empey, Manager Special Programs.
These were the Senior Management people at the time.
Plus the Chairmen of the Board, and the 12 or so Directors.
Todd wasn’t a big player, and in fact wasn’t in the ribbon cutting picture in 2009 along with all the Liberal, high rollers. Furthermore he was not promoted to the position of Director of Business Development & Marketing, until 2009.
As far as my supporting him goes, obviously you don’t understand the situation. My position is he is the best of those people running for the nomination. I am primarily concerned that Green might get the nomination, and therefore (in my opinion) Todd has the best chance of keeping her out.
If he doesn’t, then we go to plan (2).
I prefer the more genuine attitude of Northerners to the sometimes condescending, self righteous, and self absorbed nature of many who live ‘down there’.
=============================================
Sorry yhat you feel us mainlanders are such a cope out. I too have lived and worked in many parts of the province and Laydsmth comes to mind. We were a young family and the people on the Island were super people.
Even the couple of years that we lived in Surrey wen certainly didn’t find the people condescending. Let me tell you not all those in PG are angels. Just read some of the posts on this website and then tell us that there are no condescending people in PG
You may not approve of us but that’s your problem and most of the time perception of others only reflet failure of your own attitude to accept them.
And by the way the cost of living is lower in the mainland then in PG. There’s another misconception that you have.
Cheers
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Shirley Bond
The Two Travelers and the Farmer
North America
A traveler came upon an old farmer hoeing in his field beside the road. Eager to rest his feet, the wanderer hailed the countryman, who seemed happy enough to straighten his back and talk for a moment.
“What sort of people live in the next town?” asked the stranger.
“What were the people like where you’ve come from?” replied the farmer, answering the question with another question.
“They were a bad lot. Troublemakers all, and lazy too. The most selfish people in the world, and not a one of them to be trusted. I’m happy to be leaving the scoundrels.”
“Is that so?” replied the old farmer. “Well, I’m afraid that you’ll find the same sort in the next town.
Disappointed, the traveler trudged on his way, and the farmer returned to his work.
Some time later another stranger, coming from the same direction, hailed the farmer, and they stopped to talk. “What sort of people live in the next town?” he asked.
“What were the people like where you’ve come from?” replied the farmer once again.
“They were the best people in the world. Hard working, honest, and friendly. I’m sorry to be leaving them.”
“Fear not,” said the farmer. “You’ll find the same sort in the next town.”
