MPs Choose Cullen for Award

Prince George, B.C. – Skeena- Bulkley Valley MP Nathan Cullen has been named the Most Knowledgeable Parliamentarian of 2014.
The distinction is the result of ballots cast by MPs.
“I’m at a bit of a loss for words,” said Cullen after learning he had been chosen from 308 Members of Parliament to receive the award. “There are such a lot of amazing MPs in the House; to be singled out in this way by my colleagues is truly an honour.”
There are seven award categories:
- hardest working MP,
- best constituency representative,
- most collegial,
- most knowledgeable,
- rising star,
- best orator, and
- parliamentarian of the year.
This is not the first time Cullen has been recognized by his peers. He was named “Favorite Up-and-Coming Rookie Politician” in 2004, the first year he was elected to Parliament.

We are lucky to have him up here in the North. I bet he is more influential in Parliament for the North than any of the government sitting members in Northern BC. If the NDP formed government we would essentially have the number two in government representing our issues in Ottawa.
Cullen is Provincial not Federal NDP. He is in Victoria not Ottawa.
Then why does it say MP. It doesn’t say MLA.
Well, Slinky, that was a good laugh.
Its Friday, warm and no snow welcome
to prince George
Parliament thinks he’s an MP: Cullen’s parliamentary web page.
Right, he ran against Horgan for the leadership but stayed in the Feds. All these people flipping like flies and Green how is one to study for citizenship exams?
This is about as useful as cops investigating themselves. MPs voting on and determining who represents their constituents best? What a joke.
Does that means he knows how it works but still has to find out how to put into action? That would be my thought…
Nathan Cullen is an MP, he’s in Ottawa, not Victoria…
Cullen didn’t run against Horgan for the provincial NDP leadership.
Eagleone, you got that right. Do we ever have some informed people on this blog this am.
Cheers
Most, knowledgeable? About what?
Apparently the threshold for this award is quite low, from the list of awards given out the resemblance looks similar to a grade 2 sports day event where all participants win a prize.

Bang on! Well, of course, that is if one considers “where all participants win a prize” to be the same as “2% of the participants win a prize”.
Heck, even the Stanley Cup Playoffs gives about 20% of its participants a prize.
Huh! You mean premier Harper wasn’t selected?
Premier Harper???
Cullen is one of the most articulate MP’s in the country. He deserves to be there in Ottawa more than most MP’s.
