UNBC Hosts Santa Debate

Friday, November 28, 2014 @ 3:50 AM

Prince George, B.C. – In what has become a holiday tradition in Prince George, UNBC will host its 20th annual Santa debate this evening.

“This is a virtual institution at UNBC. It’s as old as the Prince George campus itself,” says this year’s MC Dr. Gary Wilson.

“We’ve had 19 debates and so far the yes side has a slight edge – they have 19 wins and zero losses. The expectation is there will be another victory for the yes side this year but there’s also hope for the no side.”

Wilson says the debate will feature a number of different presentations on the existence of Santa Claus with two teams, and a judge.

“It’s a lot of fun. We have a really good turnout every year. There’s goodies like cookies, hot chocolate, music and lots of cheer.”

The debate takes place in the Canfor Theatre and starts at 7:00 p.m.

But according to UNBC, Santa is a potential abuser. Maybe they would prefer to debate Mrs..er, I mean Ms. Claus’s authenticity.
