Wait a minute, you didn’t warn us you were going to start enforcing the rules – no fair.

And on a more cynical note – must have been quiet at Tim Hortons today

Gee whiz, and not one failing to stay right unless passing.

Police please enforce the keep right except when passing rules. It’s friggen ridiculous here. Complete gong show.

Considering that you can go to almost any place in this City in 10 minutes there is really no need for speeding.

Kudo’s to the Police for nailing these speeders. We need to continue the pressure until they get the message.

Time to get to Dawson Road and the Glenview Elementary School zone and charge the endless number of speeders in this area.

Lets get the speeders on the Hart Hiway, 97 South, 16 East/West, Bypass. There is no shortage of speeders in the greater Prince George area.

Speeding is one of the few growth industries in the Prince George area, and should be taxed (fined) accordingly.

Why don’t the city just put the speed limit up…That will take care of that problem. Sound like some of you should stay home and take a cab when you need to go out.

So much for the new police chief focussing on crime. Back to the days of old

the “keep right except to pass” rule does not apply in city limits
if they set up radar in school zones they would make a heap of money

Navigator 11 I agree and a previous speed limit study did too.

Carpenter the speed limit for the Hart Hwy was recommended to be 80 in a study done in the past. Then the police said if it was 80 people would go 90 so the police suggested it be 70 so the people would go 80 which was the recommended safe speed. This was accepted and the limit was posted at 70 and everyone did 80 and it was good. Now though some people do 70 and some 110 but most still do about 80.

Nagivator and Hartly, it’s called common sense. The lower the speed, the less SERIOUS accidents. Lots of folks entering and leaving that highway.
Keep the speed limit where it is we can all deal with it safely.

navigator11, X-it: I agree with Grizzly2. If people drive a little slower, there will be fewer people injured and many more accidents would or could be avoided. Less damage to vehicles and injury claims would lower our insurance costs.
If you want to have the pedal to the metal all the time go to a race track.
Safe driving means accommodating and watching out for all other users of the roads and highways.

Watched today as a guy in a pickup going straight through 16 and 97, on 16 towards the downtown, make a hard left turn from the straight through left lane, into the right hand left turn lane. He did this right in the middle of the intersection, He ended up in between two chip trucks that were turning left northbound on 97 that had about a pickup and a half length between them as they were turning. I can just imagine what the truck driver was thinking during this stunt.

This was happening at the same time there was a crash at the Yield exit from Pine Center Mall. Cops were already there. Too many people permitted to drive that should be banned.

Just to keep us all on track “Keep left except to pass while within the city limits”.

Horse and buggy probley would be fast for some of you guys / ladies. If you think it’s fast in the big city of PG…go to vancouver or Calgary..now that’s fast.

navigator11 ..so what is your point? people speeding in Calgary or Vancouver justifies speeding in PG? … try that logic on the judge the next time you end up in court … one of the benefits of living in PG is there is no need to speed

Bring back photo radar! Make the morons pay!

wow ski, you don’t seem to be a fan of the police…
too many tickets?
of course it would be all their fault wouldn’t it…..

The Yield exit from Pine Center Mall is dangerous to say the least. Highways should shut it down till a proper merge lane is constructed.

The government should stop handing out licenses like they’re candy on Halloween. It’s well past time the requirements to get and to keep a license were made difficult. (And I’m not talking about adding more red tape!)

Times have changed, I believe raising the speed limit is the right thing to do.
People who drive slow are oblivious to the dangers they create for other drivers. Backing traffic up only frustrates people.

Times may have changed but peoples driving habits have not improved. Why encourage crappy drivers to go faster ?

More traffic compared to 10 yrs ago. If you are having problems keeping up with the traffic flow it maybe time to look at revoking your own license for the safety of others,” Digitus Impudicus “

@maverick1965….I’m guessing you’re one of the crappy drivers that I’m referring to. Most people think they can drive mav….but most people can’t. There was a fellow at Mont Tremblant race school named Maverick. Is that you Billy ?

Digitus Impudicus

I am guessing you don’t venture far from home. For the safety of others. Keep it that way.

Just saying!

@maverick1965…well I’m guessing you are a lonely individual that is a menace on the roads. What do you want ? A race ? Grow up mav 65.

Oh lighten up Digitus Impudicus. Go eat an aspirin before you have a heart attack.

You’re obviously having a bad morning maverick 1965. I hope you’re not going to take this rage on the road this morning. You might just come across somebody having as bad a morning as yourself. Actually….I hope that is what’s in store for you today.

That’s not nice to wish ill of others Digitus Impudicus. Maybe you should attend church and repent your sins, after all it is Christmas!.” peace on earth good will to men” mean anything to you CRANKY GUY!

LOL LOL….now you’re going to throw a bible at me ? LOL…I got to get going crazy dude, we can talk chit to each other later. LOL LOL

Alrighty, be safety and remember keep right except to pass.

when the rcmp only enforce speeding laws twice a year it is no wonder people drive like A-holes.

Hi BCRacer, Like Boudicca just said, when they rarely enforce the law, no wonder no one obeys it – so, suddenly, now that we’ve got a new superintendent, we’re seeing more interest in traffic enforcement, so I’m tongue in saying we should’ve been warned they were going to start doing their job. Second comment, I think a fair amount of the local members have been mailing their effort in the last few years – just like any employee – and I think the new boss, isn’t willing to accept that level of effort, and hopefully we’ll see more consistent enforcement from now on. My last ticket was 10 years ago. I don’t have a problem with the police, just lazy police, because if I don’t do my job, no one dies, if they don’t do their job, people do die.

Another comment was – the police should go fight real crime. Okay, so, you hear noise outside, go out the door, and some guy is taking a bat to your truck – maybe you’ve got loud pipes and he can’t take it anymore – and when you tell him to knock it off, he takes the bat to you, and we call that a crime, and the guy does time.

Another guy texts while coming down the Hart, looks down, you slow for a deer coming off the hill, he smashes into you, and off the road you go. He wrecked your car, he wrecked your body, and he’ll get a ticket. People who disobey the traffic rules inflict more carnage on society that the average drug dealer can ever hope to in his life time. It’s just not as dramatic, and as a society motivation is the difference between a civil offence, and a criminal offence, but the damage and hurt is still the same, so if the RCMP can stop a few accidents by more consistent enforcement, they are fighting crime, because keeping people safe is what they are suppose to do.
