I thought new drivers were not supposed to drink….
PERIOD…
wonder why such a light penalty?

It didn’t say that the new driver was drinking, just that they were in violation of the Motor Vehicle Act. Maybe they had more people than allowed in the car with them.

Only one person (Caught) over .08 on New Years Eve ?
I consider that pretty damn good imo

Just a guess on my part but the N driver was possibly the DD for the evening. They made a mistake by doing the right thing. That would be a good reason as any for the light penalty.

Why would you impound a vehicle for 30 days when you’ve just taken away the drivers license for 90 days? I don’t imagine getting your vehicle out after 30 days is cheap either, why not really hit them where it hurts and impound the vehicle for the full 90 days?

Thank you to all the policemen and women who were out there checking. We hope you have a really good New Year!
