YXS Preps for Freezing Rain
Prince George, B.C. – The freezing rain warning for Prince George has the Prince George Airport asking departing passengers to allow for extra time.Normally, folks departing Prince George could arrive at YXS an hour ahead of time and that would be enough time to do all that needs to be done to catch their flight.
Today, YXS is calling on passengers to arrive 90 minutes ahead of flight time.
One WestJet flight departure was delayed this morning. So far there have been no flight cancellations.
Each carrier is responsible for their own de-icing procedure, and depending on aircraft, that could take up to half an hour.
Today through Sunday are busy travel days as holidays come to an end for some and they head back to Prince George or leave Prince George for other destinations.

A flight I once was on the Tarmac with American Airlines in Salt Lake City for 2 hrs waiting to get de-iced of course missed my connecting flight in Denver and that is a sucky assed airport to be stuck in for 9 hrs cause it is such an unfriendly airport
