YXS Preps for Freezing Rain

Thursday, January 1, 2015 @ 11:54 AM

Prince George, B.C. – The  freezing rain warning   for Prince George  has  the Prince George Airport asking  departing passengers to  allow  for extra time.Normally,  folks departing Prince George  could arrive at YXS  an hour ahead of time and  that would be enough time to do all that needs to be done to  catch their flight.

Today,   YXS is calling  on passengers to arrive 90 minutes ahead  of  flight time.

One WestJet  flight departure was delayed this morning.  So far there have been  no  flight cancellations.

Each carrier is responsible for their own de-icing  procedure,  and depending on aircraft, that could take  up to half an hour.

Today through Sunday  are  busy travel days as  holidays come to an end for some and  they head  back to Prince George or leave Prince George for other  destinations.

You can check the latest flight status  by clicking here.
