Vanderhoof, B.C. – The Vanderhoof RCMP has released statistics for December’s CounterAttack program.

Enforcement included 11 road checks every weekend of the month leading to the following offences:

Impaired Driving Related Charges: 6

Drive While Prohibited: 3

Various Motor Vehcile Act Offences: 46

“The officers who participated in these road checks noted a large number of people coming through with designated drivers,” advised Cpl Justin Thiessen, detachment commander for the Vanderhoof RCMP, “whether these were fundraising groups or simply party organizers ensuring safe rides home, it was very encouraging to see. Being that Vanderhoof does not have a taxi service, a little more effort and planning is needed and these folks did just that.”
