Prince George, B.C. – A string of gas and truck equipment thefts has police scratching their heads.policecarnew

Since December 19th fuel from eleven Ford F-150 trucks has been stolen.

“The suspect or suspects are drilling a hole in the fuel tank and draining the tank of gas,” says Corporal Craig Douglass.

“In addition to these thefts, Prince George RCMP have also attended another eight reports of equipment being stolen from various other vehicles. LED light bars, Tidy Tanks full of diesel, and tires & rims have all been taken right off the vehicles.”

He says the thieves have been targeting the Hart and College Heights areas and notes most of the thefts have occurred at night and in driveways or unsecured parking lots.

Douglass estimates the value of the damaged property and stolen items to be “in excess of $20,000.”

As a result of these crimes he’s warning all Ford F-150 owners to take note by securing their vehicles in garages, lit driveways and if possible to use surveillance cameras.

Douglass says the RCMP’s Crime Reduction Team is on the case and urges anyone with any information to either call police or Crime Stoppers.

Isn’t drilling into a gas tank a little dangerous?

Meth is a hell of a drug

Anyone got any information on how one might set up a booby trap?

JohnnyBelt, as Esso said years ago “Put a Tiger in your Tank”.

JB, these idiots are setting their own booby trap. Park your f150 away from your house so when these dolts drill into your gas tank they will blow themselves & your truck up with no damage to your house. Darwinism at work. :)

How about connecting your Truck to a Electric Fence Unit, makes the Cows stay away, Humans to !
Use at your Own Risk!

The gas tanks on these trucks being targeted are plastic…co-worker had his drilled and drained….very expensive repair….

=============

Can be for stupid people. Metal tanks can also be drilled without concern for fire or explosion. Physics play a part in it.
