Kwitzil Lake Tragedy Deemed Homicide-Suicide
Prince George, B.C. – Police have deemed the tragedy last spring that claimed the lives of two Prince George teenagers at Kwitzil Lake a homicide and a suicide.
“This Criminal Code investigation has been extensive and involved many aspects including forensic evidence analysis, a vehicle inspection, multiple interviews and autopsies which included toxicology testing,” says RCMP Corporal Craig Douglass.
“The investigation was hampered due to the high amounts of rumours and speculation on both traditional and social media that began just after the vehicle entered Kwitzil Lake and continued for days. Police were challenged to filter through this information in order to locate and validate the facts. Those facts have brought this investigation to conclusion.”
He says based on all the information gathered, investigators have determined that the actions of the male driver led to his own death and the death of the female passenger.
This is a tragic result to an entirely preventable situationstates Sgt. Todd Wilson of the Prince George RCMP’s Serious Crime Section.
We believe substance abuse was a direct factor in these deaths.
The tragedy, which occurred on May 18th, claimed the lives of 19 year old Craig Allen Wood and 17 year old Kendall Gabriella Catherine Moore.

I believe that while substance abuse could have been a contributing factor, ultimately there was deep rooted psychological problems that may have went diagnosed and self medicated. Sad to see young peoples lives cut short no matter the circumstance.
it saddens me greatly that young people believe they have no other choice other than this to stop whatever pain they may be in :-(
What a terrible waste of young lives!
This makes my heart sooo heavy. I feel so much for the parents and loved ones involved.
Homicide can mean just about anything.
Whatever the circumstances, a tragedy for the families involved. Condolences.

Very sad. Unfortunately these situations arise too often. Condolences to the families and friends.
Such a shameful act, its a shame one can not be punished in death other than a legacy of disgust for crimes like the one Graig committed in life. I guess the only justice Kendall Moore will get is that her killer is publicly identified for his crime for all to know for all time….
