Bad Timing for B and E
Prince George, B.C.- Two men are facing a string of charges in relation to a break in at an abandoned building in Prince George, a building that just happened to be the site of an RCMP training event.
Last Friday morning, the North District Emergency Response Team and Prince George Police Dog Service teams converged on an abandoned building on Pickering Road off Highway 16, just east of the Yellowhead Bridge for a training exercise.
As the teams approached the building, officers noticed signs the building had been broken into and suspected the culprits were still inside.
The teams surrounded the building and entered. Almost immediately two males were seen running deeper into the building, despite being told to stop by officers.
Police Service Dog ‘Azar’ was deployed and located the suspects hiding in a room. Both suspects were taken into custody for Break & Enter. One had a brief stop at the University Hospital of Northern BC for treatment of a bite wound before being taken to jail.
The 38 and 40 year old suspects are from Prince George and have a history with police. Both suspects will appear in court in April.
