Council Delays Decision on Grant Application
Prince George, B.C. – Prince George City Council has delayed making a decision on submitting an application for a federal grant until after they have had a chance to meet with residents of the Hart Highlands.
An information meeting with the residents is set for Thursday evening at the Hart Highlands Elementary School. At that meeting, City Staff will be able to provide information on the phase two of the sewer installation project which is proposed for the area.
Area residents have been calling on Council to seek grant funding to ease the pain of the financial burden each home owner would have to carry. There is a fund the City could try to tap, however, City Staff have recommended another project for that funding, saying it is shovel ready, while the Hart Highlands project has hurdles to clear before it could be considered suitable.
