Road closure/parking restriction map courtesy City of Prince George

Prince George, B.C. – There are multiple road closures and parking restrictions in effect in the downtown area during the course of the Canada Winter Games.

Looking at the map above, ( click on image to enlarge it), the area that will be considered the Athletes Village is outlined in the bluish green, roads that will be closed to vehicular traffic have been marked in yellow, there will be parking restrictions along the areas marked in orange and three parking lots (marked in blue) that used to be open for public use, will be specifically set aside for Canada Winter Games Use.

P1- behind the Wood Innovation and Design Centre, will be used by Canada Winter Games folks

P2- on the east side of the old Days Inn, will be the transportation hub for the Canada Winter Games, so shuttle buses, pick up and drop off will be happening in that area.

P3- next to the Four Seasons Pool, will be closed to traffic so it can be used in conjunction with the Canada Games Plaza

There is another “blue block” behind the old RCMP building that will be used by those using the old RCMP building as part of the operations centre for the Games.

Parking restrictions apply to the areas in front of hotels, the full block around the Days Inn, as well as on the east and west side of George Street in front of the Ramada

Following is the list of road closures and parking restrictions during the Canada Winter Games, including the dates the changes are in effect:

CLOSURES:

Patricia Boulevard between the entrance to the City Hall Parking Lot and Dominion Street, from Feb 8^th to March 12st.

10^th Avenue between the east side of the Super Save driveway and Brunswick Street, from Feb 8^th to March 1^st.

Brunswick Street between 9^th and 10^th Avenues, from Feb 8^th to March 1^st.

Canada Games Way, from 7^th Avenue to Brunswick Street, from Feb 6^th to March 4^th.

PARKING RESTRICTIONS:

Dominion Street (Southbound) between 6^th Avenue and Patricia Boulevard. No curbside parking on west side of Dominion from Feb 9^th to March 2^nd.

6^th Avenue (Eastbound) between Quebec and Dominion Streets. No curbside parking on west side of 6^th Avenue from Feb 9^th to March 2^nd.

7^th Avenue (both directions) between Dominion and Quebec Streets. No curbside parking from Feb 9^th to March 2^nd.

7^th Avenue (Westbound) between Brunswick and Victoria Streets. No curbside parking on north side from Feb 9^th to March 2^nd.

Quebec Street (Northbound) between 7^th and 6^th Avenues. No curbside parking on east side fron Feb 9^th to March 2^nd.

9^th Avenue (Eastbound) between Victoria and Brunswick Streets. No curbside parking on east side from Feb 9^th to March 2^nd.

George Street (both directions) between 5^th and 4^th Avenues. No curbside parking on east or west side, bus/motor pool parking only from Feb 9^th to March 2^nd.

10^th Avenue between Patricia Boulevard and Brunswick Street is closed until further notice for hotel construction.

The public is advised that these Closures/Restrictions will be fully enforced.
