A police escort seems odd? Funny how we put all the effort into our airport terminal and then have the guest arrive at the far end of the tarmac at a refueling station. Maybe the airport authority should have spent more money on a proper arrivals and departure terminal that would have proper covered gates as a better utility of tax dollars spent IMO.

Welcome Team BC, hope the rain stops!

Yes having the athletes get off the plane then 15 feet away climb into the bus. How inconvenient for them..lol, instead they should have had them all come through the arrivals.. Then out to the parking lot to the bus.. Good thinking

As for the police escort.. 2 cop vehicles.. Come on Eagleone.. This is our time to,shine, and these athletes are representing our province.

P Val, I don’t usually agree with Eagleone, but today I have to agree that a police escort seems odd!

Odd, and a serious waste of money!!

Does the RCMP think that the professional bus drivers are going to speed, or run a few red lights?

A lot of unnecessary pomp and ceremony, all to transport people from the airport to a hotel! A very cushy assignment for the members involved!

Man, I sound grumpy today!

Welcome Team BC………Don’t know why there is no BC flag on the side of the bus announcing Team BC…….All the best in the Games BC

Quite exciting!! Good luck everyone, and enjoy our little city!

Judas Priest. No wonder these little parties cost so much. They’re just kids for crying out loud, not the heads of state. What a silly dog and pony show.

Really? Police escort for team BC? 23 year old athletes? lol, this is just silly folks.

Welcome to the Winter Rains!

“We’re here for a good time not along time…….”

Cops needed to check for drugs.

The Police were on duty anyway.

2 cops for 2 hrs.. If that.. Huge waste..please. IPG budget of over a million bucks and you are complaining of maybe $200-$300.

pretty silly alright , if I met that convoy my first thought would be that they must be moving some inmates from the prison . on a more positive note hope the forecast is right for next week and we get back to cooler temps and sunshine .

Awesome for Prince George

P Vale, sorry buddy, but you just don’t get it!!

2 cops for 2 hours! 2 cops with their 2 vehicles for 2 hours! And then 2 more cops with vehicles for 2 hours!

2 plus 2 equals 4, plus 2 equals 6, plus 2 equals 8 and on and on it goes! What a total waste of time and money, for what? An escort of a few buses into town?? Like the athletes on the bus really could care if they had a police escort!!

All these police man hours would be far better spent enforcing laws and catching criminals!! That is what we pay them to do, right??

Yes, I am complaining about what is probably a lot more than your simple suggestion of $200-$300! I am complaining about this, just like I complain about the waste at IPG, the waste at City Hall, the waste in Victoria, Ottawa, etch!

You think it’s ok to waste tax money! I envy you because you must have a really really well paying job! Either that or you inherited a bunch of money from someone who saved, rather than wasted their money!

Tax and spend, tax and spend! I’m all for the games, but can’t we spend wisely at the same time??

Bo is a good motivational speaker for persons with disabilities as he won gold in wheel chair basketball. I hope PG can find motivation from a person like him. I hope people can find it in their hearts to welcome these people to PG

Hope they don’t think the police escort is because anything they have heard through the news about our crime rate!In all seriousness, they probably got a good chuckle out of feeling like royalty for a moment in time!

Hart guy.. Maybe these cops volunteered, maybe they are on straight time, maybe maybe maybe..

C’mon folks. Get into the swing of things and enjoy all these visitors to our town. Yesterday I sold 27 of my “Canada’s Most Dangerous City” t-shirts. Today I expect to triple that amount.

Police escort is to show the bus following where the potholes are, so they can dodge…..LOL

ppl. Stop complaining. thanks.
