Warm Weather, Clear Skies to Continue Through Wednesday
Prince George, B.C. – It looks like the unseasonably warm weather will continue until at least the middle of next week.
“It’s going to be around for another couple of days and the beginning of the week at least,” says Environment Canada meteorologist John McIntryre. “We’ll still have that big high (ridge) in place, so today just scattered cloud, lots of sun, and highs of 4 degrees.”
He says the high will reach 6 degrees tomorrow, with highs of 4 Tuesday and 2 Wednesday.
However things will likely change by Thursday.
“We’re looking at a front that’s going to move through the province from the northwest to the southeast and it’s going to hit Prince George on Thursday.”
McIntryre says that will bring increasing cloud in the morning and flurries with “a measurable amount of snow.”
He says on Friday the flurries should clear with a low of minus 10 and a high of plus 1 while another high pressure ridge on Saturday will bring sunny skies and a low of minus 13.
He admits the warmer temperatures are abnormal for this time of year.
“Yes, for this time of year normally lows are minus 7 and highs are plus 3. Many towns and cities in the province have been above normal this last week, a few records set here and there. So yes, it’s not too normal, well above actually.”
