Living Library Cultural Exchange at CNC
Prince George, B.C. – It promises to be anything but your average book exchange at the College of New Caledonia in Prince George this afternoon.
This as the college hosts its Diversity Living Library, a two-hour event where readers check out human “books.”
“CNC’s Living Library catalogue comprises people of diverse cultural, racial and social backgrounds who can be “checked out” for a 15-minute conversation about their lives,” reads a news release.
Further, organizer Romana Pasca says the event “provides a great opportunity to develop a greater sense of global citizenship and a deeper appreciation of the rich diversity of our community at CNC and throughout the region.”
The 14 participants include people with a wide variety of life experiences including homelessness and addiction, arranged marriages, and growing up in other cultures.
The event is free to the public and runs from noon until 2:00 pm in the school’s Gathering Place.
