Search Launched for Overdue Kayaker

Prince George, BC – A search for an overdue kayaker has been initiated on the Salmon River, north of Prince George.
Just after 1:30 this morning, the Prince George RCMP received a report of a missing kayaker along the Salmon River, north of Prince George.
Police learned that a 25 year old male with little experience kayaking, was dropped off approximately 20 kilometres up the Salmon River from Highway 97 at approximately 5:30 pm on Wednesday night. The kayakers vehicle was located by the Salmon River Bridge, where he intended on finishing his journey.
Police have contacted Emergency Management BC for assistance. They have called out the Prince George Search & Rescue Society who began search efforts at first light today.
