Prince George, B.C. – The Little BobtailLake fire is now estimated to be 13,000 hectares.
Fire suppression personnel observed an increase in fire activity overnight in the Little Bobtail Lake area. Structure Protection Unit personnel worked aggressively to establish units on all values immediately at risk. No structures have been lost at this time.
Evacuation orders and alerts remain in effect, and BC Parks has closed Dahl Lake Provincial Park and Bobtail Mountain Provincial Park to all recreational users and has ordered the evacuation of any users in the park.
The cause of the fire, which was first spotted May 9th, remains under investigation.
There are 120 firefighters, 6 helicopters, 4 air tankers and 10 pieces of heavy equipment working on this blaze. More ground, air and equipment will be added to the team today with hopes of slowing the fire’s progress by setting up containment lines.
Low humidity, warm temperatures and dry conditions are challenging the suppression efforts.

The mars water bomber would have been ideal for this fire but for no good reason that can stand scrutiny the province did not renew the contract. It could have drowned this fire.
Do a search for mars water bomber.
What other kind of non-wisdom can be expected from our provincial government, seamutt?

One can be assured that if this fire was in the southern interior it would be flying. Central interior ,,, right
