Severe Thunderstorm Watch in Effect for P.G.
Prince George, B.C.- Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Prince George.
Environment Canada says thunderstorms will develop this afternoon over Prince George, northern Cariboo and eastern sections of Bulkley Valley near Fort St James. These thunderstorms may become severe and produce heavy rain, large hail and strong wind gusts.
Environment Canada advises that fast moving water across a road can sweep a vehicle away. Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Stay indoors when a thunderstorm strikes. There isn’t a place outside that is safe during a thunderstorm. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!
