Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George Cougars not only unveiled a new logo this morning, the WHL team also announced it has entered into an agreement to sponsor a race car.It is a two-year sponsorship agreement with the Prince George Auto Racing Association’s 2014 Streetstock points champion, Jerry Gascon. Part of the sponsorship agreement includes a new Prince George Cougars logo decal for his car.
“Whether it’s sponsoring the Prince George Symphony Orchestra’s ‘Pops in the Park’ or a local race car driver, we are always looking for unique ways to support our community” said Cougars President Greg Pocock. He says sponsoring Jerry gascon “was a really cool opportunity for us to showcase our new logo and our community pride in a unique and exciting fashion.”
“It’s important to align ourselves with winners” says Pocock “and we wish Jerry Gascon and his team well as he takes to the track in defense of his PGARA championship.”

Mr.Pocock and his ownership group have been more involved in this community over the past year more than Mr Brodsky was for his entire tenure as owner. What a breath of fresh air. I wish Mr.Pocock and the Cougars nothing but good luck going forward. They deserve the rewards for the investments they are making in our community

Retired 02, I’m a bit confused as to whether or not your comment was meant in a sarcastic or negative way.
Are you suggesting that Greg Pocock deserves any reward to his bank account by virtue of his ownership of the team, or are you implying that a return on his investment would be a bad thing?
Perhaps you can tell us how much profit, if any that the Cougars made during the last season? I would think that you as a resident of Abbotsford, would be far more concerned about the profitability of your own former team, the Abbotsford Heat.

My first thought was “Calgary Flames”.
I like logo changes every now and again, keeps the brand fresh. After all the positive changes made to the team this year I might just have to become a season ticket holder again.
