Prince George, B.C. – Expect backups on Highway 97 today.

The City of Prince George will be shutting down both northbound lanes between Noranda Road and Knell Road due to a watermain leak.

According to the City, northbound traffic will be single lane and diverted into the eastern southbound lane while the southbound traffic will be single laned and diverted into the west southbound lane.

The shutdowns will run from 4am until 4pm today and some area residences and businesses may have their water temporarily turned off.

The City recommends motorists consider taking Foothills as an alternative.
