Prince George, B.C. – It was a soggy start to today’s Mudd, Sweat & Tears 8 km obstacle course race at Otway Nordic Centre.
Rain greeted the first heat at 9 am, but that didn’t deter the participants who chanted “let’s go, let’s go” before they took off.
Race director John Reed told 250 News this week the course would be a real challenge with “lots of walls, crawls, mud pits, barbed wire, elevation, and good trails.”
Over 1,300 people are registered to take part. Proceeds will go to support the Junior racing program at Otway as well as the BC Professional Firefighters Association Burn fund.

Great job everyone! It’s cold and wet and sloppy conditions so well done all who showed up and persevered!!!!
looks like they should keep some defibrillators nearby…
What a waste of time.
curmudgeons corner never fails to produce…
Yeah, what person in their right mind would want to go have some fun, play in the mud with some friends & raise some money for a good cause? Jeez, I would much rather spend my day wasting away watching golf, baseball or in front of a computer screen. Great job by the organizers & competitors, hopefully next year I won’t be working when this event is on.
This is awesome stuff… next year they should get P&G to sponsor it with Tide, or get OxyClean on board with logos everywhere. Make a few more bob for charity
@sergio.. Maybe you should call your Mom and ask her what to do if you don’t have anything nice to say.
