250 Pollsters Not Swayed by Celebrity Endorsements

Monday, September 28, 2015 @ 4:00 AM

Prince George, B.C. – When it comes to celebrity endorsements, a large majority of those who took the 250 News (not scientific) poll were not swayed.

We asked the question:

Do celebrity endorsements influence the way you vote?

Of the 1,327 votes, 92% (1,218) said no, they were not influenced by celebrity endorsements.

6%, (77) answered it depended on the celebrity while just 2% (32) admitted yes, they are influenced by celebrity endorsements.

This week we want to find out if you’ve experienced a change of heart during this lengthy campaign.

So, this week’s question is:

Has your vote changed over the course of this federal election campaign?

Yes

No

I lost a lot of respect for Gretzky with his Harper endorsement. He doesn’t live here, he doesn’t pay taxes here, he can’t vote… His opinion is irrelevant.

No, you just hate Harper so that influenced your thinking on the subject. His family probably pays more tax here than you ever will. Shows the exact opposite, shows he actually cares to give his opinion.

Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one including Gretzky

And Herbster has an opinion on an opinion

Well, having to fly in celebrities from other countries to give a personal endorsement seems to indicate that there is a severe lack of Canadian celebrity citizens residing in Canada who are willing to do it.

It looked like a paid endorsement with Gretzky thanking Harper at the end for inviting him.

Nicolas Duchastel de Montrouge, who also holds Canadian citizenship, was approved by Elections Canada on Saturday to run as an Independent candidate in Calgary Heritage in Stephen Harper’s riding. He has been living in the USA for the last 15 years and is not at present a resident of Canada!

Looks like someone opened the gate and can’t lock it again!
